Life on The Road: Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmiths

Tresa Vorenberg

The thing about Canyon Road is that it’s made up of fiercely independent artists and gallery owners. Like, there’s no coordinated business hours. People walk up the road and say, When are the galleries open? Well, they’re open whenever they want to be. We’re all free to run our businesses like we want. And really it’s impossible to organize it.

It has an independent awesomeness to it. It’s not Rodeo Drive. There’s no place in the world like it.

I’m really grateful for a life on Canyon Road. I’ve been there since 1982. It was all artists at that time.

It was little studios, little holes in the wall. It was really an amazing place to be. The cream of the crop of artists from everywhere. It has nurtured and supported me all of these years.

You know, I’m kind of a hermit. I fit right in.
